Marble Rocks

Just 21 km west of Jabalpur, is a small village called Bhedaghat. The village is world famous for splendid Marble Rocks on the banks of Narmada River. Covered with dark volcanic seams o
f green and black, they tower to almost 100 ft above the soft flowing Narmada on either side.
The rocks are floodlit at night for dramatic effect .However MP Tourism is heavily promoted it and views on this tourist spot vary from 'truly spectacular' to 'a total bust'. 

 
Dhuandhar Falls
 
The Narmada river, while making its way through the marble rocks river plunges through a narrow rock in Jabalpur giving it a powerful roar and smoking cascade. It is called Dhuandhar falls and the plunge is powerful, roar is audible from a far distance. The fall and the breaking of the volume of water at the crest present an awesome spectacle.
 
 
Chausath Yogini Temple
 
 
Situated near the famous Marble Rocks in Jabalpur MP, Chausath Yogini temple complex is an open sky circular courtyard atop a hill. It is dedicated to Goddess Durga. Right in circular fashion is a row of idols of attendants of Goddess Durga called Yoginis. Lord Shiva temple is in the center. The lawa stone idols were plundered and disfigured by Moghul invaders. One of the unique 
features of this temple is that both Shiva and his consort Parvati appear together riding on the Bull or the Nandi.
 
Tilwara Ghat
 
 
Tilwara Ghat in Jabalpur in India is situated on the banks of the river Narmada and is considered to be holy like the Ganga. Tilwara Ghat Madhya Pradesh is the best developed among the several ghats around the Narmada river and has the Gandhi Smarak. One of the biggest attractions of Jabalpur, the famous Marble Rocks is situated nearby. It is the place where the Narmada river has created a narrow canyon. The striking thing about the site of Tilwara Ghat Jabalpur is that both sides of the canyon are of pure marble.
 
 
Madan Mahal Fort
 
Madan Mahal fort is situated in Jabalpur City of Madhya Pradesh. It is approximately 515 meters above the ground.During the Gondwana period it acts as a watch tower for the attackers and defenders coming to conquer the Gondwana rulers. The fort of Madan Mahal is situated on the south-western part of the modern city of Jabalpur. The fort dates back to 11th century AD. The fort is well associated with Rani Durgavati the Gond Queen and her son Madan Singh. Rani Durgavati eventually died fighting the Moguls and is hailed as a martyr in Indian history. She also built numerous temples and tanks scattered around Jabalpur chiefly around her Garha principality. 
 
Sangram Sagar & Bajnamath
 
 
Bajnamath And Sangram Sagar is located at just 15km from Jabalpur. The Sangram Sagar and Bajnamath are most sort out tourist destinations in Madhya Pradesh. The Bajnamath And Sangram Sagar have the medieval architectures built by Sangram Shah. The Sangram Sagar Lake has a good number of aquatic creatures and fishes. The migratory birds from central parts of western Asia like, pin-tailed ducks, coots and red-perched pilchards are seen in this lake.Built by the famous Gond King Sangram Shah between 1480-1540, these are Medieval constructions. 
 
Rani Durgavati Museum
 
 
At the center of the Jabalpur city, Rani Durgavati Museum was established in year 1976.The Rani Durgavati Museum is dedicated to the memory of the great Queen Durgavati as her memorial and museum. A collection of sculptures, inscriptions and prehistoric relics are on display - many from the 10th and 11th C. A sandstone idol of Durga and the sculpture of Saraswati is also on display in the museum.

Bandhavgarh National Park

 
Bandhavgarh National Park is one of the popular national parks in India located in the Umaria district of Madhya Pradesh. 
 
This park has a large biodiversity. The density of the tiger population at Bandhavgarh is one of the highest known in India. The park has a large breeding population of Leopards, and various species of deer. 
 
Bandhavgarh fort
The history of the region can be traced back to the 1st century. There are 39 caves in the Bandhavgarh fort and in the surrounding hillocks up to a radius of about 5 km. The oldest cave datesw from the 1st century. Several caves carry inscriptions in Brahmi script. Some caves have embossed figures such as tigers, pigs, elephants and horsemen. Badi gufa, the largest cave, has a broad entrance, nine small rooms and several pillars. It has been dated back to the 10th century. The cave appears to be primitive, 

lacking the elaborate statues and carvings seen in the caves of the Buddhist period. Its purpose remains a mystery.
No records are available to show when Bandhavgarh fort was constructed. However, it is thought to be some 2000 years old, and there are references to it in the ancient books, the “Narad-Panch Ratra” and the “Shiva Purana”. Various dynasties have ruled the fort; including the Mauryans from the 3rd century BC, Vakataka rulers from the 3rd to the 5th century the Sengars from the 5th century and the Kalachuris from the 10th century. In the 13th century, the Baghels took over, ruling from Bandhavgarh until 1617, when Maharaja Vikramaditya Singh moved his capital to Rewa. The last inhabitants deserted the fort in 1935.

Bandhavgarh Hill, having an elevation of 807 m above sea level, has provided the tiger reserve with its name. Atop the hill lies the Bandhavgarh Fort, the seat of the rulers.

Tala Village is one of the most beautiful attractions of Bandhavgarh, and is the lowest point of the wildlife reserve. It has many mud houses and abounds with natural landscapes. 
 
Baghel Museum - Museums
 
Baghel Museum preserves the personal belongings of the Maharaja of Rewa. This museum also displays the stuffed body of the first white tiger spotted by the Maharaja of Rewa. 
 
Climbers Point - Parks
 
Climber's Point is a beautiful place in the Bandhavgarh National Park, which provides an aerial view of the entire park and its forests comprising sal and bamboo trees. 
 
Bhamera Dam - Dams
 
Bhamera Dam is located around 20 km away from Bandhavgarh National Park in Panpatha Sanctuary. A favourite with birdwatchers, the dam is visited by several avifaunas.
 
Gharpuri Dam - Dams
 
Gharpuri Dam is also visited by several water birds. This beautiful place is situated around 10 km away from Bandhavgarh National Park.

Shesh Shaiya, an idol of Lord Vishnu, is the originating point of River Charanganga. Having a length of 65 ft, it is laid horizontally on the serpent, which has seven heads.

Ketkiha, situated in Bandhavgarh National Park, houses the aromatic species of the flora called Pendanus. The entire location is full of these plants and is known as Pendanus Point.
 
Three Cave Point - Wild Life Sanctuaries
 
Three Cave Point is located in the Bandhavgarh National Park and can easily be seen from Ganesh Hillock Road. It houses many beautiful carvings, which depict the use of architecture.
 
Sita Mandap - Place of Worship
 
Sita Mandap is situated in Bandhavgarh National Park. Meaning wedding ground, it is a single rock, which arches over like a bridge. 
 
Ghorademaon - Heritage
 
Ghorademaon is a natural deep gorge, which has been formed due to various geographical processes. Tourist can also find a continuous flowing water stream in this area.  
 
The Photographer\'s Point - Parks
 
The Photographer's Point is located on top of a mountain in Bandhavgarh National Park. Tourists can enjoy the beautiful view of the wilderness, along with the flora and fauna.
 
Andheri Jhiria - Heritage
 
Andheri Jhiria is a dense area in Bandhavgarh National Park, owing to the presence of lush vegetation. It is believed that most of the tigers spend there afternoons at the spot.
 
Rajbahera - Hill/Mountain
 
Rajbahera is another marshy region present inside the Bandhavgarh National Park. It is known to be the origin of River Damnar. This marshy area acts as a source of water.
 
Charger\'s Place - Parks
 
Charger's Place is dedicated to Charger, the dominant male tiger in Bandhavgarh National Park. Bandhavgarh remained under the reign of this tiger for almost a decade.
 
Mahaman Pond - Heritage
 
Mahaman Pond is situated in Bandhavgarh National Park and is visited by many herbivores and carnivores inhabiting the national park. 
 
Bhitari Bah - Heritage
 
Bhitari Bah abounds with a variety of medicinal herbs. The area can be explored both by an elephant safari and jeep safari.

Agra is a city situated on the river Yamuna. Largely known for its Mughal rule (1526-1658), Agra finds mention in the great Indian epic Mahabharat where it is called Agrevana or 'the border of the forest'. 

 
History records Sultan Sikandar Lodi, ruler of Delhi sultantate as founder of the Agra in 1504. It is home to the famous monuments of Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, Sikandara with Fatehpur Sikri about 45 Kms away. Other places of interest are I'timad-Ud-Daulah, Swami Bagh Samadhi, Chini ka Rauza, Mehtab Bagh.

The fort was commissioned by the great Mughal Emperor Akbar in 1565, and is another of Agra's World Heritage Sites. It is a redstone fort was converted into palace by Shah Jehan. Notable buildings inside fort are Pearl Mosque or Moti Masjid, the Diwan-e-aam and Diwan-e-Khas (halls of public and private audience), Jahangir's Palace, Khas Mahal, Shish Mahal (mirrored palace), and the Musamman Burj. The forbidding exteriors of this fort conceal an inner paradise. This is the fort from where Chhatrapati Shivaji escaped.

The Mughal Emperor Akbar built Fatehpur Sikri about 35 km from Agra, and moved his capital there. Later abandoned due to shortage of water, Akbar moved his headquarters to Agra Fort. It houses the shrine of the sufi saint Saleem Chisti.
