Rajasthan is a spectacular where codes of honour and chivalry have engaged the mysterious and proud people, instead of power and wealth.

Your tour starts from Nawalgarh. It is a small town with enormous mansions or Havelis. Most of these houses, which indicate great wealth, have brilliant wall frescoes with the right figurative paintings. The wealth came from Calcutta, not from the surrounding desert.

Jodhpur is the last city before the vast expanse of the desert starts. Also called the blue city, the dominant feature of the city is the Mehrangarh Fort. It is a good place to buy Rajasthani style home furniture.

Udaipur is the city of lakes and has many beautiful palaces. Notable amongst the palaces of Udaipur are the city Palace of Udaipur and the Lake Palace. Udaipur was built by the Royal family, which ruled over Chittorgarh. After Chittorgarh was successfully invaded three times, it was decided to shift the capital to the secure location of Udaipur.

Ranakpur, which is on the way to Udaipur from Jodhpur is famous for its 16th century Jain temples. Built in white marble, it has 1444 pillars that are unique in nature and design.

Pushkar is a holy town with two focal areas-one of the Lake and the second day's the only temple in the whole world dedicated to God Brahma.

Nearby is a Ajmer, and other holy town dedicated to the Sufi mystic, Khawaja Moinuddin Chishty. On the way to Jaipur from Pushkar lies Kishangarh. Here you can buy statues, some of them very stunning.

Tiger attacks in Ranthambhore

Jaipur or the pink city as it is popularly called was designed as a walled city with seven gates because seven is considered to be an auspicious number in Vaastu Shashtra, the principles of which were used to establish the city on a grid pattern of nine blocks. Amber Fort and city Palace, are the two grand monuments in Jaipur.

Ranthambhore is the only national Park in Rajasthan which has Tigers in the wild. Sariska, which is touted to have Tigers as well, actually has no Tigers. Foray into the jungle to chance your luck for spotting the Tiger in the wild, using both, the morning and the afternoon Safari. While Ranthambhore is mostly about Tiger and other animals, its human conflict tales add to give the complete picture. Some Ranthambhore tales

Agra, the city of Taj Mahal, was blessed by the fond Imperial attention of the Mogul dynasty. The lavishness of the Mogul benevolence is visible not only in its grand monuments like the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort, but also visible in the exquisite buildings that can be seen in the narrow lanes of Agra. In this tour the option exists to view Taj Mahal, both at sunrise as well as at sunset.
