Golf courses in India can be found everywhere. From a scenic setting in Kashmir to a heritage setting in Rajasthan, India has many eclectic options to choose from.

As of today, there are nearly 200 golf courses in India. Enough to keep any golf enthusiast happy and purring with pleasure for many months, if not years.

Let's discuss a few of these exotic golf destinations.

 

Delhi NCR (comprises of Delhi, Greater Noida, Gurgaon)

Nearly 20 golf courses are located in this large city. All of them are equipped with amenities like swimming pools, fitness centres, spas, restaurants, kids area and entertainment zones to keep the nongolfers happy while their golf enthusiastic member enjoys his/her rounds.

 

The better known golf courses in Delhi NCR are: The Delhi Golf Club in Central Delhi with heritage monuments, DLF Golf and Country Club, Classic Golf Resort, Jaypee Greens Golf Resort, Golden Greens Golf and Country Resort.

Delhi golf club was initially set up by Sir Edward Lutyens in the early 1930s, and has to its credit 179 acres. It has two golf courses; 18-hole and 9-hole. 

Jaipur

Jaipur is easily accessed from Delhi. Here you get the touch of the royalty. An 18 hole golf course, the Ram Bagh Golf Club is set in a palace with the views of Moti Doongri Palace and Nahargarh Fort. This club is a prestigious golf club and one of the oldest as well. (Challenging championship course with Par 70 Yardage-6303 (SSS 70)). You shall most likely spot dancing peacocks here as you navigate the course.

Kashmir

The beauty of Kashmir is well known and well documented. The golf courses here are set amidst spectacular surroundings. It's only in the summer months that you can play golf as the winter sees these golf courses buried under snow. Srinagar, Gulmarg and Pahalgam are the golf destinations in Kashmir.

 

The Kashmir Golf Club and Royal Springs Golf Course, Srinagar is a uniquely designed 18-hole golf course set on 52 acres of land overlooking the famous Dal Lake.

 

Gulmarg has earned the soubriquet of being the golfing Mecca of India. Golf courses with unique layouts and lush greenery greet you here. The turf at The Gulmarg Golf Club remains soft as it gets buried under snow for nearly 5 months every year.
