In a recent news story by Times of India, it says that the new Uttar Pradesh government under the direct supervision of the Chief Minister is working on to introduce the following:
Lion Safari in Ettawah, about an hour's drive away from Agra.
River cruising and aquatic wildlife in the Chambal sanctuary. This about 77 km away from Agra.
Chambal river has been famous for its ravines which had been dacoits infested.
The river itself is home to the last of Ghariyals, a kind of alligator and eat rare species of turtles plus Gangetic dolphins.
In our view, this is an exciting development and has our full support. The Chambal river is the cleanest of the rivers in India as it is not used for casting prayer ritual items in the water.
A weekend journey from Delhi to Agra by road can be more fulfilling and if Fatehpur Sikri and the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is included, it will become totally adventurously exciting.
